MassTRAC
Massachusetts Traffic Records Analysis Center

MassTRAC is a web-based system for traffic records analysis and reporting. It enables public safety officials to present crash and citation information through interactive maps, tables, tabulations and cross-tabulations, graphs and charts, and formatted printed reports. Users can access data on crashes, vehicles, drivers, passengers, nonmotorists, citations, and violations. Predefined filters support the needs of users at all levels of skill and training, and ad hoc reporting functions allow users to easily produce custom reports.

MassTRAC is a cornerstone of safety planning in Massachusetts, supporting analysis and reporting, countermeasure evaluation, funding allocation, and local program support.

MassTRAC was developed for the Highway Safety Division of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security. According to the client:

“In the past, the lack of access to data hampered the abilities of EOPSS/HSD and other agencies such as the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the Department of Public Health, and communities to conduct detailed analysis needed for identifying and addressing statewide and community-specific traffic safety issues. MassTRAC allows us and other stakeholders to more effectively identify problem locations and target human and financial resources to the areas of greatest need.”
