We are seeking an experienced Economist with 10 plus years of experience to lead Cambridge Systematics, Inc.’s established and rapidly growing national team of economists recognized for innovative work in transportation economics and policy.
Responsibilities include overseeing the direct studies related to regional economics and economic development, transportation policy, land use analysis, financial analysis, and related areas. The ideal candidate will also lead economic-related business development activities, including the preparation of proposals and technical approaches. The candidate should have enthusiasm for applied economics and desire to work in a team-oriented environment, as well as interest in helping to develop the technical capabilities of other staff.

We are seeking a Freight Project Manager to work on a variety of transportation consulting assignments with a focus on the area of freight movement. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of project work plans, from inception of approach through completion of final reports and presentations; management of project staff and budgets; performance of quantitative and qualitative analyses of goods movement, industrial activity, and general economic data; development of recommendations for clients regarding goods movements strategies, physical/operational movements, and/or freight policy for public and private sector clients; and evaluation of impacts and benefits of recommendations using commodity flow data, transportation network models, input-output models, and/or other applicable tools. We are seeking Permit Technicians and Permit Program Clerks to support our on-site contract with the New York State Department of Transportation in Albany.
As members of the Cambridge Systematics team, the Permit Technicians will be responsible for reviewing applications and supporting the issuance of permits to commercial carriers wishing to move oversize/overweight loads in the State of New York. Ideal candidates will have extensive customer service experience and a background in the trucking industry.
The Permit Program Clerk will perform various clerical duties including filing, photocopying, processing mail, responding to customer inquiries or directing these inquiries to the appropriate internal staff, possess strong interpersonal skills, be proficient in typing and in the use of basic computer and data entry applications.
