Above all, we are committed to our clients’ success in making transportation better for future generations.
For nearly four decades, we have dedicated ourselves to furthering the success of those concerned with transportation, public and private. The breadth and diversity of our client base, which includes Federal, state, regional, and local agencies; international agencies; port authorities; transit agencies; rail operators; airports; and private-sector operators; reflects our dedication and the recognition that we are leaders in the transportation industry.
We are consultants to many of the offices within the U.S. DOT (FHWA, FTA, FMCSA, VNTSC, OST, BTS, FAA) and to Federal agencies with significant transportation interests, such as the U.S. EPA and the National Park Service. We are among the select few transportation consulting companies under on-call contracts to the FHWA’s Offices of Safety, Operations, Planning and Environment, and Policy; the FTA; and several other Federal agencies.
We have consulted to more than 44 states on the full range of transportation policy, investment, management, and operations issues facing state agencies. Our work includes development of long-range statewide plans, passenger and freight travel demand forecasts, freight and intermodal plans, ITS, and infrastructure management. We also have worked with NCHRP and TCRP as well as AASHTO on strategic issues and deployment of leading edge analytical tools and decision support systems.
Regional & Local Agencies & Authorities
Our consultation is valued by regional and local transportation agencies because we bring to their unique circumstances and challenges state-of-the-art methodologies and software products combined with extensive national, state, and local experience. This ability to apply best practices to the advancement of regional and local transportation goals has been recognized by the more than 60 MPOs and other local and regional agencies we have served.
Public transportation plays a critical role in providing mobility, enabling smart growth, and promoting environmental quality. To fulfill this role, transit authorities require a wide range of technical and strategic support. Cambridge Systematics maintains one of the largest transit planning practices in the nation, with deep experience in high-speed and conventional rail, local and intercity bus, commuter rail, new technologies, and transit-oriented development.
We work with the railroad industry, trucking industry, airlines, financial services and banking clients, and private developers to serve their transportation consulting needs. Firms and organizations in the private sector require an interdisciplinary approach that balances client needs with community and public interests. Cambridge Systematics brings both a respected track record in the public sector and a collaborative approach that inspires trust among all constituencies to our private sector projects. As an industry leader, we can offer strong expertise in all aspects of transportation to our private sector clients.
