GIS Architect – Oakland, CA and Cambridge, MA

We are seeking a GIS Architect to provide GIS expertise for a variety of projects involving GIS-T, travel demand forecasting, transportation and freight planning, and transportation operations. This individual will be involved in a variety of projects involving the development of geospatial data models to support transportation, including linear referencing systems and connected networks to support transportation modeling and pathbuilding. In addition, they will develop and implement strategies for enterprise GIS in transportation agencies, including the integration of legacy databases; specification of geodatabase standards; and design, installation, and configuration of enterprise GIS infrastructure, including desktop and server-based GIS hardware and software. IT Support Analyst – Cambridge, MA

We are seeking an Information Technology Support Analyst responsible for monitoring the IT Support Help Desk application and delivering high-quality remote and on-premise support to Cambridge Systematics’s staff. This individual applies trouble-shooting and analysis skills to diagnose and fix personal computer hardware, software and peripheral devices, answer client questions, and provide training and education.

Responsibilities: Provide Tier-1 and Tier-2 IT application, desktop, and smartphone support. Research, resolve, and document issues and/or escalate to appropriate team member; document and prioritize all support requests in the IT Help Desk ticketing system; configure, set up, and move desktop, laptop, and workstation computers as required; install and configure a variety of software products in accordance with Cambridge Systematics’s processes and standards; ensure all equipment is properly maintained; place, manage, and track vendor service calls where appropriate; monitor and track CS computer assets, including administering a laptop and projects loaner program; special projects as needed; on-board Cambridge Systematics, Inc. new employees; assist new employees with system access and equipment; and participate in the on-call rotation.

Ruby on Rails Software Engineer – Cambridge, MA

Senior Transportation Safety Planning Project Manager – Open Location

We are seeking a Senior Transportation Safety Planning Project Manager with proven transportation safety planning and project management skills to join our expanding Safety team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of state highway safety office operations, programs, and processes; the Federal role in transportation safety; multidisciplinary safety countermeasures; performance measurement; and transportation safety data and analysis.

This individual will be responsible for managing contracts, projects and project teams, and programs related to transportation safety policy, strategic planning, safety programs, traffic records data systems and analysis, and system evaluation; communicating effectively with clients and safety professionals through writing and public speaking; facilitating client, working group, and public meetings, workshops, and webinars on traffic safety; conducting business development activities to expand client base; and leading a Safety team business development initiative or program to start or expand a market.

Qualifications: 15+ years of professional experience in the management and development of transportation safety plans; B.S. or M.S. in fields with transportation safety experience, or other educational experiences with application in the transportation safety field (e.g., public policy and administration, marketing and public relations, public health, research and methods, etc.), Master's degree preferred; practical experience in development of transportation plans and programs and implementing behavioral-related countermeasures and strategies to address safety issues; familiarity with crash data systems and experience in the use of crash data in the analysis of crash causation factors; knowledge of, and relationship with NHTSA (specifically Traffic Injury Control) and/or FHWA (specifically the Office of Safety); knowledge of, and relationships with national organizations such as GHSA, TRB, AASHTO (e.g., the SCOHTS standing committee); and experience working within one or more state highway safety offices or state departments of transportation, and/or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or the National Academies of Sciences is desirable. Senior Travel Demand Modeler and Project Manager – Atlanta, GA

Cambridge Systematics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Travel Demand Modeler and Project Manager to work in our Atlanta office as part of our Travel Demand Forecasting group. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a growing team of transportation professionals to provide project management and analytical support on travel demand forecasting model development and application projects, under both traditional and advanced modeling paradigms.  The role includes responsibility for direction and execution of project tasks in collaboration with other travel demand modelers in a team-oriented environment. Specific responsibilities would include developing model input data and estimating parameters, statistical analysis of travel surveys, conducting validation of travel demand models, executing model runs and evaluating results, preparing technical documentation, researching new modeling techniques, testing software enhancements, managing projects and task orders, and providing ad-hoc agency support. The position also includes some responsibility for business development activities, including proactive lead tracking and proposal development.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in either Urban and Regional Planning or Transportation Engineering; 8-12 years of experience in hands-on development and application of travel demand models; proficiency with Cube, Voyager, TRANPLAN, TP+, and TransCAD software and statistical packages such as SAS and SPSS; strong GIS analysis skills with ArcGIS and/or TransCAD; experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience performing research, working with surveys, and using Census-related data products; and commitment to quality, dedication to objective analysis, and attention to detail. Experience with task/project management is highly desirable as is experience, interest, and contacts in hands-on business development in the Atlanta region. Specific application experience with Atlanta Regional Commission and Georgia DOT models, transit ridership forecasting (including New Starts), and roadway project traffic forecasting is also highly desirable. Transportation Economist – Open Location

Our Transportation Economics team is expanding and we are seeking experienced candidates to support economic analyses. This position is based in any of our office locations.
