We are seeking a General Ledger Accounting Manager for a fast paced, client-oriented accounting department. The General Ledger Manager is responsible for the integrity of the financial statements through review and analysis of the general ledger. This position also includes supervision of 3 staff accountants.
The GL Accounting Manager manages and mentors the GL account team, comprised of two staff accountants, one junior accountant, and one intern, and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated to meet competing deadlines. The GL Accounting Manager is responsible for the integrity and timely publication of monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policy, including timely and accurate completion of month end close process, review and approval of monthly financial statements, summarizing findings on the monthly reports to senior management, review and approval of monthly general ledger account reconciliation and analysis, and review and approval of labor utilization forecasting and reporting. This individual will maintain and adhere to internal control structure and coordinate and manage external audits, including review and approval of schedules and financial statements. This person will assist in the preparation of the annual budget and provide support to Business Line Managers and Corporate Service Unit Managers as needed. As part of the accounting management team, the GL Account Manager is accountable for implementation of the annual Accounting Business Plan. This person will also assist in implementation of a new accounting system and be responsible for various special projects as required. The GL Accounting Manager interacts with business managers and the firm’s senior management team, requiring strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, and superior customer service skills. We are seeking a General Ledger Senior Staff Accountant to join our Cambridge, MA office. The General Ledger Senior Staff Accountant will report directly to the GL Manager and is responsible for the integrity of the financial statements through review and analysis of the general ledger. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the integrity and timely publication of monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policy; including assisting in timely and accurate completion of month end close process, preparation of monthly financial statements, financial analysis for reporting to senior management, and of general ledger account reconciliation and resolution. This person also will be responsible for the review and approval of labor utilization forecasting and reporting.
This individual will maintain and adhere to internal control structure, assist in preparation of annual budget, and the preparation of annual audits. Accounts Payable responsibilities include the review and approval of vendor invoices to ensure appropriate account coding and compliance with GAAP and FAR while researching, reconciling, and resolving vendor statements and inquiries. This person will be responsible for the preparation of annual 1099s, the oversight of monthly closing of Accounts Payable, the review of related journal entries as appropriate, and the review and approval of expense reports. Additionally, the GL Staff Accountant will supervise and approve semimonthly payroll, including journal entries as well as review and approve accruals related to fringe benefits. Other responsibilities include the preparation of annual worker’s compensation audit work papers and ad hoc reporting as well as other special projects as needed.

We are seeking an Information Systems Administrator to play a key technical role in IT infrastructure planning, development, maintenance, and management. This individual will work with a well-rounded technical team at all levels on multiple projects and system administration activities to improve processes and to utilize technology as a strategic asset, in a distributed environment. The Information Systems Administrator is a significant contributor to the development of data management policies and procedures, including data retention, storage, archiving, and efficient retrieval. This role also manages, secures, protects, and optimizes the network infrastructure, both physical and virtual.
This individual will manage the Active Directory environment, from design and implementation to maintenance and regular reporting; will develop and recommend technical solutions for enterprise physical and virtual server configurations and functionality; and will collaborate with other IT professionals to develop complex technical solutions. We are seeking someone who will develop and maintain corporate server software patching policy and plan and execute regular patch applications to keep all managed servers up to date with software updates; will provide cost-effective strategic long-range technical solutions for Windows servers, storage arrays, and computer backup systems and will troubleshoot; and will provide both Tier-1 and Tier-2 technical support in these areas. Cambridge Systematics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Travel Demand Modeler and Project Manager to work in our Atlanta office as part of our Travel Demand Forecasting group. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a growing team of transportation professionals to provide project management and analytical support on travel demand forecasting model development and application projects, under both traditional and advanced modeling paradigms. The role includes responsibility for direction and execution of project tasks in collaboration with other travel demand modelers in a team-oriented environment. Specific responsibilities would include developing model input data and estimating parameters, statistical analysis of travel surveys, conducting validation of travel demand models, executing model runs and evaluating results, preparing technical documentation, researching new modeling techniques, testing software enhancements, managing projects and task orders, and providing ad-hoc agency support. The position also includes some responsibility for business development activities, including proactive lead tracking and proposal development.
