CS’ Laura Richards wins 2019 TRB Urban Freight Transportation Committee Award

We are excited to announce that CS’ Laura Richards, associate, has been selected as a winner of the 2019 TRB Urban Freight Transportation Committee Award for “Best Applied Paper.” Richards’ paper, “Demystifying Urban Curbside Freight Management: A Strategic Incremental Approach from Washington, D.C.,” outlines the application of pricing to loading zones as a part of the parkDC: Penn Quarter/Chinatown performance parking pilot and the variety of initiatives District Department of Transportation has, such as plans to facilitate commercial deliveries and decrease unauthorized use of the curbside.

Richards and the other contributing writers will receive their award during the TRB Annual Meeting at the Urban Freight Transportation Committee Meeting on Monday, January 14th at 1:30pm in the Marriott Marquis (Archives Room). The award winners will also present their paper during the 10:15 am Monday session: Managing Curbspace Access in an Increasingly Congested Urban Environment.
