Safety Risk Assessment

The systemic approach to safety analysis identifies transportation system characteristics or risk factors that are associated with particular crashes. Risk factors can be characteristics such as curve radius, number of travel lanes, shoulder type and width, or form of intersection control in combination with pedestrian and bicycle facilities. CS is a leader in using systemic analysis to identify risk factors and characteristics and guide decision-makers in prioritizing locations for safety treatments. The systemic evaluation process complements site-specific safety analysis for a comprehensive approach to safety.
