Freight Demand Model Development and Application

CS has continuously advanced the state of the practice in freight and truck modeling. Our methods combine the best of commodity flow models, vehicle-based travel demand models, operational simulations and modal diversion models. We integrate these and other tools for an approach that considers mobility, economic impact, benefit-cost, air quality and safety analysis. Our current initiatives include the development of advanced regional freight models that incorporate supply chain and urban logistics practices in the modeling framework.

Port Planning and Market Forecasting

State, regional and local agencies face challenges in the effort to alleviate port congestion, especially in planning for goods movement and alternative passenger transit modes.
